The Department of Human Resources is pleased to announce to the launch of a newly updated Cuyahoga County Employee Handbook. The handbook governs employees under the authority of the County Executive and County Council.

A limited number of hard copies will be available from HR on request. HR staff will hold information sessions for all employees to explain the changes in the new handbook and to answer questions. I encourage you to attend a session.

Section 7 of the handbook contains a new attendance policy, and section 11 has new policies relating to paid and unpaid leave. County Council delayed the implementation of these sections until August 5, 2018 to give HR and IT time to update our computer systems and processes. Therefore, until August 5, 2018, the attendance policy and the paid and unpaid leave polices from the prior handbook (adopted June 2013) remain in effect. All other sections of the new handbook are in effect.
